SOAK HOUSE: TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read carefully. Use of Soak House facilities is at your own risk. By booking or using our facilities you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. BOOKINGS, CAPACITY & USE
Facility includes: saunas (wood-fired), showers, ice baths/cold plunges, ambient plunge(s).
Arrive on time. Late arrival reduces session time; fees remain payable.
Group booker is responsible for ensuring all group members have read and comply with these Terms & Conditions.
2. MEDICAL ADVICE, RESTRICTIONS & SAFETY
Consult your GP if unsure about safety of sauna, hot tub, cold plunge or ice bath use.
Seek GP advice if any of the following apply (not exhaustive): pregnancy; recent heart attack or stroke; taking medication; cardiovascular disease; high/low blood pressure; arterial disease; asthma or other breathing conditions; joint/muscle injury.
Guests with epilepsy are prohibited from using any Soak House facilities (saunas, ice baths, cold showers, hot tubs, cold plunges) without exception.
Do not use facilities while intoxicated. We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons.
Do not touch stove, stove door, flue chimney, sauna rocks, or fire guards. Only pour water onto sauna stones as instructed; pour from the point furthest from you. Any injuries are at fault of the individual and Soak House take no liability.
Exit immediately and seek help if you feel dizzy, faint, short of breath, disoriented, or unwell.
3. CHILDREN & MINORS
No children under 13 permitted.
No under-16s permitted in any water at 15°C or below (cold plunge/ice baths).
Children aged 16 and under are not permitted to join social sessions.
Group booker must ensure waiver(s) are signed on site for minors.
4. ICE BATH / COLD PLUNGE USE
Cold plunge/ice bath use is at your own risk. Ensure you understand cold exposure risks.
Limit exposure to short, controlled durations; exit immediately for adverse symptoms (gasping, uncontrolled shivering, confusion).
Pregnant persons and those with heart conditions must consult a doctor before using cold exposure facilities and provide written proof and guidance that the doctor provides.
5. HOT TUBS & AMBIENT FACILITIES
Maximum permitted temperature: 43°C.
Ambient mild plunge: 16–20°C. No under-16s in water ≤15°C.
Water is monitored and treated; use is prohibited if monitoring fails.
6. HYGIENE, ATTIRE & ETIQUETTE
Shower before entering facilities.
Always sit on a towel in the sauna and hot tub areas.
Swimwear only in all wet areas; nudity prohibited.
Remove shoes before entering indoor areas; use shoe rack.
No running anywhere on site.
Do not use essential oils, skincare products, or other substances in facilities without permission.
Remove hanging jewellery before entering sauna or hot tubs to avoid burns.
7. PROHIBITED ITEMS & BEHAVIOUR
No alcohol, smoking, or vaping anywhere on site.
No glass containers on site.
Do not bring or use electronics in saunas (heat/water damage risk). Use at your own risk.
8. ALLERGIES & INFUSIONS
Complimentary infusions or essential oils may be offered. By using these you accept the risk.
Leave immediately for any allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, eye/nasal/throat irritation).
9. LIABILITY, ACKNOWLEDGMENT & INDEMNITY
You use the facilities at your own risk. Soak House, its owners, employees, contractors, and the host rugby club accept no liability for personal injury, loss, theft or damage to personal property except where required by law.
You are responsible for safeguarding your possessions. Do not bring valuables.
You grant Soak House and its representatives permission to photograph you and your property; images may be used for publicity unless you notify us in writing.
Indemnity concerning host location: Soak House operates on premises owned/managed by [Rugby Club Name] (the “Club”). To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that Soak House, the Club, and their respective officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from your use of the facilities. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Soak House and the Club from any claim, liability or expense (including legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms or your negligent acts or omissions while on site.
10. WAIVERS
Minors: a parent/guardian must sign an on-site waiver accepting responsibility and attendance before any minor uses facilities.
By signing on-site or completing booking terms you acknowledge and accept these risk warnings and disclaimers.
11. CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Private bookings: full refund (less 2.5% card processing fee) if cancelled >48 hours before session. Allow 3–5 days for refund processing. No refund if cancelled within 48 hours.
Social sessions/events: non-refundable. May be rescheduled once if notice given >48 hours before session; otherwise non-refundable.
Special occasion/large-group bookings: full refund (less 2.5% processing fee) if cancelled >2 weeks before session. Cancellations within 2 weeks are non-refundable but may be rescheduled by agreement.
Emergency exceptions considered case-by-case; contact us as soon as possible.
12. EMERGENCY & FIRST AID
In an emergency call 999.
On-site first aid box location will be at the reception.
Closest qualified first-aiders and contact details will be displayed on site.
13. MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONAL MONITORING
Temperatures and water quality are monitored regularly. Facilities may be closed if safety systems fail.
14. GENERAL
We reserve the right to refuse admission, or to terminate a session, for any health & safety risk or breach of these Terms. Refunds will not be issued to persons refused admission for these reasons.
These Terms may be updated; the version published at time of booking/use applies.
15. FIRE PIT USAGE
The fire pit must only be used in accordance with staff guidance and posted safety instructions.
The fire pit must not be left unattended while lit.
No accelerants, personal items, or rubbish may be placed in the fire pit.
Unsafe behaviour around the fire pit is prohibited.
Children under 16 must be supervised at all times near the fire pit.
Use of the fire pit while intoxicated or impaired is strictly prohibited.
Users accept all risks associated with fire pit use. Soak House accepts no liability for injuries or damage resulting from misuse or failure to follow safety instructions.
Soak House may restrict or prohibit fire pit use at any time for safety reasons.
