Meet the owner

Soak House was founded by Kurt Heatherley, a former professional AFL and rugby union athlete whose career was built on discipline, resilience, and high‑level physical performance.

Throughout his years competing at the elite level, Kurt relied heavily on the powerful combination of sauna heat and cold‑water immersion to speed up recovery, reduce inflammation, and maintain peak condition. These practices became a cornerstone of his training routine  not just for physical benefits, but for mental clarity and overall well‑being.

Driven by his passion for recovery and his belief in the transformative effects of contrast therapy, Kurt created Soak House as an outdoor sanctuary where anyone, not just athletes can experience the same benefits that supported his professional career.

Today, he brings his experience, knowledge, and genuine love for wellness to Canterbury, offering a space designed to help you reset, recharge, and feel your best.
